Project Management

Deadlines were meant to be broken

I have managed a few significant projects during my career, and I don't crave managing any more. I do, however, like to lead them. I like to work with others in clarifying the vision for a product, bringing the forces to bear on solving the problems, clearing the hurdles that spring up during the work, and help pushing the product out the door.

I dislike keeping track of people's time, tracking the budget numbers, building gantt charts, and managing vendor contracts. All those items are essential for effective execution during a project, but it's not my baileywick. I do, however, have a knack for certain aspects of project management, and so it is done out of need and duty rather than out of love.

When I complete this section, you'll have a good understanding of the demands of project management in a true project setting. Until that time, please feel free to contact me with any suggestions or questions.
